Yace Sula is a filmmaker who often plays within the experimental arena. Through a surrealist lens, their work aims to capture how shame informs the fluid nature of identity, trauma, and morality.
Sula’s short film, Ele of the Dark (2022), screened at film festivals such as Slamdance, Fantasia, and was awarded an honorable mention for U.S. Narrative Short Film at Outfest LA. Their film, As Told by a Corpse (2025), had its world premiere at the 78th Edinburgh International Film Festival and made its North American premiere at the 63rd New York Film Festival. It later won The Barbara Aronofsky Latham Award for an Emerging Experimental Video Artist at the 64th Ann Arbor Film Festival.
In 2025, they were named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film.
