Yace Sula is a visual artist and filmmaker who often plays within the experimental arena. Through a surrealist lens, their work aims to capture how shame informs the fluid nature of identity, trauma, and morality.
Sula’s short film, Ele of the Dark (2022), screened at film festivals such as Slamdance, Fantasia, and was awarded an honorable mention for U.S. Narrative Short Film at Outfest LA. Their film, As Told by a Corpse (2025), screened at the New York Film Festival, Viennale, and later won The Barbara Aronofsky Latham Award for an Emerging Experimental Video Artist at the Ann Arbor Film Festival.
They were named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film in 2025, and selected as a Sundance Institute Ignite Fellow in 2026.
